Enamel Quartz Powder

Quartz powder, a white, water-insoluble substance, serves as a refractory material in enamel glazes. It enhances the firing range of enamel pastes, prevents over-firing of enamel products, and is added to the base enamel to ensure its integrity through repeated firing cycles. Additionally, quartz improves breathability, preventing glaze cracking and fish-scale efflorescence.
The product is made of high quality natural quartz which is calcined at about 1500℃, then ground, magnetically separated and graded to be stable. The silicon content is over 99.5%, the crystal phase is tetragonal, the hardness is about 6.5 and the density is 2.45.
The high purity quartz powder obtained after high temperature calcination can be stabilized by rapid cooling. It is widely used because of its stable chemical properties, reasonable and orderly controlled particle size distribution, large specific surface area, high porosity, good weather resistance, good anti-sedimentation and good thermal shock resistance.
